Farin is a young girl who appears in the second season of the anime. She initially takes on the role of an examiner named Rin, who is responsible for testing new players in the game. In this capacity, she possesses the notable ability to detect the Busters of each player, a skill that allows her to assess their power and capabilities.

Despite her authoritative role, Farin harbors doubts and inhibitions, particularly regarding the protagonist Suigin. However, after witnessing Suigin hold his own and defeat a powerful and arrogant player named Titan, who had used a significant amount of in-game currency to boost his power, Farin gains more respect and confidence in his abilities. This event is a turning point, as Suigin sought to prove himself specifically to get Farin to join his team.

Following this demonstration of strength, Farin officially agrees to form a team with Suigin. While she had her reservations, she decides to offer her assistance to his cause, especially after hearing the story of Suigin and the captive girl Rei for the first time. Learning his motivations is enough to solidify her decision to help him. Farin learns that to save Rei, Suigin must conquer Stage Zero and find a specific player, and she commits to aiding him in this dangerous mission.

Once they become allies, Suigin vows to protect Farin at all costs. Their partnership faces immediate challenges, including being forced to log off the game by a powerful member of an organization called the Totems, which gives them twenty-four hours in the real world before they can re-enter the game together with renewed purpose.
