Description
Kei Uomi is a professional gamer affiliated with the Nitro Squad esports team and is recognized as one of Japan’s top fighting game players. He entered the competitive esports scene approximately three years before the main events of the story, quickly rising through the ranks with very few losses. His rapid ascent led him to a pivotal match against Sylvia Goldberg, the premier pro-gamer in America, during the Galaxia Heroes: Burst World Championship. Despite thoroughly researching her playstyle and managing to pin her down during the match, Goldberg broke free and changed her rhythm, utterly defeating him. This loss left Kei shocked by the gap in their abilities, and he vowed to defeat her one day, establishing a lasting rivalry.

Kei Uomi is generally a friendly and sociable person in real life. He is analytical, persistent, and dedicated to improving his gaming skills, often studying opponents to adjust his playstyle accordingly. Outside of the competitive gaming context, he can be somewhat oblivious, particularly regarding social cues or jokes from his friends, which sometimes makes him the target of their teasing. In contrast to his real-life demeanor, his in-game avatar, Oikatzo, acts in a much more hot-blooded, gutsy, and bold manner, giving the impression of a tomboyish girl.

To further improve his skills, Kei began playing Berserk Online Passion, a notoriously glitch-filled "trash game". It was in this game that he first met Rakuro Hizutome, known in-game as Sunraku. Impressed by Sunraku's mastery of the game's bugs and exploits, Kei immediately attempted to recruit him for his esports team, but Sunraku declined due to a promise to his parents to follow a conventional career path. Despite this, they became friends and rivals, continuing to play together. The two later challenged the MMO Unite Rounds, which had been dominated by the player Pencil Knight, also known as Towa Amane. After decimating her guild, they confronted her personally, only for her to defeat them both by destroying the building they were in. Following this encounter, the three developed a begrudging friendship. Their shared history eventually leads them to form the clan Wolfgang together in Shangri-La Frontier.

When Sunraku began playing Shangri-La Frontier, Kei initially viewed it as a good way to pass the time. However, after hearing about Sunraku and Pencilgon's adventures, he was motivated to join them and created his own character under the username Oikatzo. His primary motivation in the game is to take on high-level challenges alongside his friends, particularly the Seven Colossi bosses. A running point of ironic frustration for Kei is that, despite his immense skill as a gamer, he is never the one to activate the unique scenarios or special events in the game; he can only participate in those triggered by Sunraku or others.

In Shangri-La Frontier, Kei uses the female avatar named Oikatzo, who has blonde hair and wears a red and light beige outfit, metal gloves, bandage socks, and beige boots. His main class is Monk, specifically a Spirit Fist User, which allows him to use powerful magical buffs and skills but restricts him from equipping standard weapons or heavy armor. His playstyle is that of a light fighter, with high HP and vitality, designed to absorb and deflect damage while dealing significant blows. His Spirit Fist techniques involve calling out colors to activate different buffs. Red Impact boosts his strength and vitality, wrapping his fists in red fire energy, while Black temporarily increases his damage output with black flames. He can combine these to create Combo Spirit Fist: Flame Crimson for even greater power. More advanced techniques include Dark Overstrike, a tri-color mix of red, blue, and yellow that creates a dark sphere of electrical energy at the cost of high stamina, and Daybreak, which deflects projectiles back at their origin. His combat skills include Repel Counter to parry attacks, Crush Uppercut for devastating blows, Dual Impact to stagger difficult targets, and Human Pile Bunker, a powerful lunge that can pierce through defenses. During the battle with the Colossi Wezaemon the Tombguard, this skill proved critical in breaching the armor of his summoned Kirin mount. His sub-job is Archaeologist, which allows him to use a whip, such as the Snakerope "Life Rein," for exploration, combat, and manipulating objects, as well as skills like Ruin Sense for analyzing ancient structures.
