Description
Tirol Ōchagama is a young female mercenary and traveling merchant with distinctive pink hair styled in long braids, earning her the nickname "Jellyfish" and inspiring her self-proclaimed shop name "Kurage Shoten." She possesses yellow eyes and favors practical attire including thigh-high boots, shorts, and a coat. Tirol demonstrates quick thinking and mechanical aptitude but struggles with poor financial management.
Initially serving government official Kurokawa as part of his guard and bounty hunter forces, she attempted to assassinate Bisco Akaboshi under orders. After her defeat, Kurokawa implanted a balloonworm parasite in her stomach to ensure her compliance, threatening internal hatching without regular medication. She later escaped during a confrontation between Bisco and Kurokawa's forces.
During her travels, she encountered Bisco and Milo Nekoyanagi at the Nikko War Memorial, suffering a severe balloonworm-induced choking fit. Milo performed emergency surgery to remove the parasite, saving her life and exposing Kurokawa's method of control. Though initially suspicious of their motives, Tirol provided the pair with supplies before departing, taking Milo's money.
Her path crossed the protagonists again in Shimabuki, where they rescued her from freezing conditions. She then joined their journey to the Shirakaba Line, guiding them through the terrain and negotiating favorable deals with traders. Along the way, she revealed her past as a mechanic on the Tetsujin project, abandoning the work after colleagues succumbed to Rust disease. At Shirakaba, she bypassed a train's payment system using her technical skills, enabling the group's advance. Before parting ways, she revealed her name after Bisco and Milo acknowledged her as a friend.
Later, at Shimabuki Base, she witnessed Kurokawa's revived Tetsujin threatening Imihama. After convincing Pawoo Nekoyanagi of the danger, she provided a critical Tetsujin manual and assisted in tracking the machine. During the final battle, she identified the self-destruct mechanism and deduced that killing its embedded pilot, Kurokawa, was necessary to prevent destruction. Her technical knowledge directly contributed to the Tetsujin's defeat. Following these events, she acquired Rust-Eater mushrooms and departed to distribute them across Japan as a merchant.
