Description
Dolly, a prototype clone from the experimental Clone Dolly Project, serves as a precursor to the Misaka Network, designed to advance cloning longevity and establish an interconnected data-sharing system. Bearing medium brown hair and a physical resemblance to Mikoto Misaka, her survival depends on chest-mounted cybernetic implants that leave prominent scars—artifacts of her creation process. Researchers subjected her to rigorous drug trials and cloning methodologies to gather medical insights, intending to optimize mass-production protocols for future clones.

Confined within a research facility, she forged a close bond with Kouzaku Mitori, affectionately dubbed "Mi-chan." Their friendship fractured when Kouzaku discovered Dolly’s life-support systems during a medical exam, prompting her abrupt departure. To stabilize Dolly for ongoing data collection, scientists deployed Shokuhou Misaki to mentally impersonate "Mi-chan." Though Dolly temporarily embraced the illusion, she discerned the deception through subtle scent discrepancies yet chose silence over confrontation.

As her health declined irreversibly, Dolly’s eventual collapse and death left a lasting impact on Shokuhou. Postmortem, her memories and consciousness were transplanted into a pristine clone body devoid of scars or implants. This revived Dolly retained her original personality and awareness of Shokuhou’s role in the charade. After escaping containment, she joyfully reunited with Kouzaku, reminiscing about their shared past, and reconciled with Shokuhou, proposing joint outings—like beach visits or amusement park trips—to mend lingering wounds.

In subsequent events, Dolly adopts casual clothing, participating in activities such as the Second Reformatory’s Jailbreak Trial alongside Kouzaku. She demonstrates combat prowess by channeling pseudo-railgun attacks through her hair and engages in mundane routines like meal preparation, communicating via Liquid Shadow puppets. Her interactions reveal a whimsical yet observant demeanor, often detecting hidden details like emotional shifts or olfactory cues.

Her narrative intertwines with projects like Exterior—a DNA computer built from Shokuhou’s brain tissue—and intersects indirectly with figures such as Gensei Kihara, who later manipulates the Misaka Network, and Accelerator. Spin-offs and ancillary media, including *Toaru Majutsu no Index: Imaginary Fest*, reference her legacy as a prototype, with Mikoto Misaka alluding to her existence.

Dolly’s arc explores identity, memory continuity, and cloning ethics. Despite her origins as a test subject, she exhibits emotional authenticity and autonomy, striving to carve a life defined by ordinary joys and meaningful connections beyond laboratory walls.
