Description
Isana Tachibana is a 15-year-old student in class 2-1 at Rikka High School, working part-time at her family's STO Cafe with her father. Her mother, Ayumi, is deceased. She has silver or very light purple hair styled in pigtails, brown eyes, and stands 157 cm tall. Living with her childhood friend Yumeji Fujiwara under her father's care while Yumeji's parents are away, she shares a deep bond with him rooted in a childhood incident where he caught her from a near-fall on a playground, injuring his hand. Though shy about expressing her romantic feelings, she later learns both Yumeji and Merry Nightmare participated in her rescue, evidenced by their shared scars.

Initially unaware of dream demons, she is targeted by the "Familiar" Legion in the manga as one of 67 potential human vessels. In the anime, she is forcibly made into a vessel for the dream demon Palette near the story's end. After Yumeji and Merry reveal the truth about dream demons, she accepts the situation calmly and engages more actively in their efforts.

She develops a growing friendship with Merry, instinctively feeling they met before, and confides in her about her feelings for Yumeji. After initial concerns over Yui Konagi's closeness to Yumeji, she bonds with Yui. She also befriends transfer student Kawanami Chizuru, encouraging her to open up emotionally—a friendship that leads to Chizuru sacrificing her memories to save Isana from a dream demon.

Artistically inclined with aspirations to become an artist, she is a skilled cook trained by her father. Her development culminates when Yumeji indirectly acknowledges her feelings by confessing he likes her and requesting her as the illustrator for his novel, which she happily accepts. Her own confession attempt on Christmas Eve is interrupted.

In the manga's later arcs, she supports Yumeji and Merry during conflicts involving Kyou Shiragi, who falsely claims responsibility for her playground rescue. Her awareness of the dream world's threats and strengthened connections solidify her role within the group.
