Description
"Dog & Scissors" centers on Kazuhito Harumi, a high school student with an obsessive love for books, particularly those written by his favorite author, Akiyama Natsuno. After being killed in a café during a robbery, Kazuhito is reincarnated as a dachshund, retaining his human consciousness. His new life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Natsuno, a sharp-tongued and eccentric novelist who wields scissors as her weapon of choice. Recognizing Kazuhito’s intelligence, Natsuno adopts him, naming him "Inuharu" and dragging him into her chaotic world.

The series explores the dynamic between Kazuhito, now a dog, and Natsuno, who is both his idol and a domineering figure. Natsuno’s obsession with Kazuhito’s intellect leads to a series of comedic and absurd situations, often involving her using her scissors to assert dominance or solve problems. Kazuhito struggles to adapt to his new life, yearning to read books but hindered by his lack of opposable thumbs. Despite his frustrations, he remains loyal to Natsuno, who, despite her abrasive personality, shows moments of vulnerability and care.

Supporting characters include Kirihime Natsuno, Natsuno’s younger sister, who is a skilled swordswoman and often clashes with her sister over Kazuhito; Madoka Harumi, Kazuhito’s older sister, who is unaware of his reincarnation but shares his love for books; and Suzuka Hiiragi, a timid girl with a hidden violent streak who becomes infatuated with Kazuhito in his dog form. The series blends comedy, absurdity, and occasional moments of emotional depth as Kazuhito navigates his unusual circumstances and relationships.

The narrative is driven by episodic adventures, often involving Natsuno’s eccentric behavior, Kazuhito’s attempts to communicate or regain some semblance of his former life, and the quirky interactions between the characters. The series maintains a lighthearted tone, with occasional forays into darker themes, such as Kazuhito’s longing for his human life and Natsuno’s struggles with her own insecurities as a writer. The interplay between the characters and the absurd premise creates a unique blend of humor and heart, making "Dog & Scissors" a distinctive entry in the comedy genre.
