Description
Cecilia Alcott is a main character in Infinite Stratos 2, introduced as a first-year student at the IS Academy and the official IS Representative Candidate for the United Kingdom. She is a young girl of fifteen with a striking appearance, characterized by her long, wavy blonde hair styled into drill-like ringlets at the ends, and vivid blue or violet eyes. As a member of the prestigious and wealthy Alcott family, she carries herself with the poise and refinement expected of British nobility, though this upbringing also initially manifests as significant arrogance and pride in her own abilities and status.

Behind this confident and often imperious exterior lies a more complex and troubled personal history. Cecilia lost both of her parents in a train accident three years prior to the events of the series, an event that forced her to single-handedly protect the family's vast fortune from opportunistic relatives and other claimants. This experience instilled in her a fierce independence and a determination to never appear weak. Her disdain for perceived weakness is directly linked to her father, whom she recalls as an insignificant and nervous man who had little influence within or outside the family, especially after the emergence of the powerful IS technology. As a result, Cecilia grew to hold a deep contempt for men she considers cowardly or weak, vowing never to marry someone who lacks strength of character.

This worldview is challenged upon meeting the protagonist and the world's only male IS pilot, Ichika Orimura. Initially, she is dismissive and deeply offended at the prospect of a man, whom she derisively calls "commoner," becoming the class representative. She challenges Ichika to a duel to assert her superiority. However, the encounter backfires when she witnesses his determination and refusal to back down, even in the face of defeat. Though she wins the match by a technicality, she is profoundly moved by his strength, and her attitude undergoes an immediate and drastic shift. She relinquishes the class representative position to him and begins referring to him as "Ichika-san," becoming intensely interested in him. From this point onward, her primary motivation becomes intertwined with her growing affection for Ichika, leading to a highly competitive dynamic with the other female characters who also share his attention. She displays strong jealous tendencies, often resorting to dramatic or possessive outbursts when she perceives other girls as getting too close to him.

In her role within the story, Cecilia serves as both a rival and an ally. Her piloting skills are exceptional; she is an A-Rank pilot who has demonstrated a high aptitude for IS control from a very young age. She pilots a third-generation British IS named Blue Tears (Blue Tears), a specialized long to mid-range combat unit. Its primary armaments include six remote-controlled drones known as "Blue Tears Bits" for omnidirectional laser fire, a high-precision Starlight Mk III laser rifle, and a short knife called the Interceptor. The suit's blue bits are her main tool for overwhelming opponents from a distance, though her overconfidence in this strategy can sometimes make her predictable or vulnerable to close-quarters combat. Throughout the series, she works to overcome these limitations, including learning to curve her laser beams to attack from unexpected angles.

Cecilia's character development extends beyond the battlefield. She is a talented musician, proficient in both the violin and piano, and a skilled tennis player, having won a tournament at the academy. One of her most notable and comedic flaws is her extraordinarily poor cooking ability. Despite her best efforts and her desire to prepare meals for Ichika, her dishes are consistently inedible or even hazardous. Her approach is overly faithful to the visual presentation in cookbooks, but she substitutes ingredients with bizarre items like perfume or tabasco, often leading to explosions that destroy her kitchen when she attempts to use her IS to aid in the process. This is a running source of humor and a point of deep personal insecurity for her, which she gradually works to improve. Her relationships with other characters, particularly her friendly rivalry and frequent arguments with Lingyin Huang, evolve over time from simple antagonism into a form of mutual care and camaraderie, even as they continue to compete for Ichika's favor. This ongoing competition and her public crush on Ichika often lead to daydreams and bold suggestions, showcasing a more naive and romantic side that contrasts with her typically composed demeanor.
