Description
Hitomi Tsukishiro is a 17-year-old witch descendant living in 2078, where magic blends with everyday life. Severe emotional detachment and total achromatopsia leave her world monochrome, rooted in childhood trauma from lost relationships. Believing herself unworthy of affection, she consciously avoids connections, leading to isolation. Her grandmother, Kohaku Tsukishiro, intervenes, casting the complex Stardust Clock spell to send her 60 years into the past to 2018. Kohaku aims for her to regain color perception and emotional vitality by connecting with her own teenage self and experiencing a new environment.

Hitomi possesses waist-length silver hair with bangs swept right and dark-yellow eyes, frequently noted for her striking appearance. In 2078, she wears a high school uniform: a white collared shirt with a turquoise bow tie and skirt. In 2018, she adopts casual clothes like a pink sweater layered over a white blouse and skirt.

Profoundly shy and timid initially, she withdraws due to deep feelings of unworthiness and a strong aversion to magic, associating it with her pain and colorblindness. She refuses to use her abilities. Forced interaction in the past, especially with the Magic Photography Arts Club at Minamigaoka High School, begins her change. Socially awkward and hesitant at first, the group's encouragement fosters gradual openness. Key relationships, like her bond with Yuito Aoi, accelerate her development, helping her explore repressed emotions and rediscover her identity.

Her relationships drive emotional growth. With Kohaku, she shifts from a formal familial bond to genuine friendship in 2018; Kohaku insists on first-name use as peers. Yuito Aoi, an introverted artist, becomes pivotal: Hitomi perceives colors only in his pastel drawings, a phenomenon later linked to subconscious emotional resonance with his art. This deepens into mutual romantic feelings, though their relationship remains restrained by communication barriers and her inevitable return. Back in 2078, she visits his grave, confirming his passing and their bond's enduring impact. Shou Yamabuki, the club president, develops unrequited feelings for her; after his confession, she declines due to her attachment to Yuito, though they maintain a supportive friendship. This creates brief tension with Asagi Kazeno, who harbors feelings for Shou, but open communication resolves it, strengthening Hitomi and Asagi's friendship.

Her development centers on overcoming emotional barriers and reconnecting with magic. Early in 2018, she unconsciously displays magical proficiency, like walking on water or summoning snow, revealing untapped potential stifled by trauma. Exposure to the club's creative environment encourages cautious experimentation, such as creating showers of starlight, shifting her perspective to associate magic with joy and expression. During a pivotal moment involving a golden fish symbolizing hope, she actively uses magic to resolve a conflict, demonstrating renewed self-assurance. By returning to her timeline, she regains color perception and exhibits marked confidence, emotional openness, and balanced acceptance of her magical heritage, reflected in restored world engagement and cherished memories of past relationships.
