Description
Shō Yamabuki is the president of Minamigaoka High School's Photography Club, possessing brown hair and olive eyes that give him a typical student look. He first appears alongside club members Asagi Kazeno and Kurumi Kawai when they encounter the time-displaced Hitomi Tsukishiro in 2018. Spotting her apparent confusion, he approaches her directly, showcasing his observant nature.

His artistic specialty lies in capturing grayscale photographs, a distinct focus within the club. This preference for monochrome later resonates thematically with Hitomi's color blindness. As club president, he actively recruits new members, encouraging Hitomi to join after witnessing her create a shower of stars with magic during late-night practice on school grounds and recognizing her abilities.

He develops romantic feelings for Hitomi and confesses them to her. When she declines, he accepts her rejection gracefully, thanking her for her honesty with the words, "Thank you, for telling me straight. Now I can move on. Do your best. I'm rooting for you," and offering his continued support. His childhood friend and fellow club member, Asagi Kazeno, harbors a crush on him; his growing attention towards Hitomi sparks visible jealousy in Asagi.

The etymology of his name reflects aspects of his character: "Shou" (将) carries connotations of leadership or command, aligning with his role as club president, while "Yamabuki" combines "mountain, hill" (山) and "blow, breathe, puff, emit" (吹). Throughout the series, he remains a supportive presence in the club, participating in group activities like school festival preparations. His character arc functions within the ensemble dynamic of the Photography Club, secondary to the central narrative involving Hitomi and Yuito Aoi.
