Description
Chiharu Yoki, universally nicknamed Tsubaki (木春), transfers into Amatsuyu "Joro" Kisaragi's second-year class at Nishikizuta High. Her nickname fuses the final kanji from her surname (木) and given name (春), creating "Tsubaki" – meaning "Common Camellia" and embodying faithfulness in flower language, a direct reflection of her unwavering loyalty.

Tsubaki possesses a slim build, straight shoulder-length black hair, and notably thick eyebrows. She consistently wears a red flower-shaped hair accessory. Her school attire is conventional, contrasting with her work uniform at the family's "Cheerful Skewers" (ヨーキな串カツ屋) stall: a logo shirt, red bandanna headband, and matching apron.

Her personality radiates kindness, helpfulness, and charisma. She speaks confidently and approaches her work with strong professionalism and seriousness. Her defining motivation traces back to an event before her transfer: witnessing Joro buy all the deep-fried skewers from her stall during a baseball tournament. He intended to share them with his friend Taiyо̄ "Sun-chan" Ōga to lift his spirits after a loss. This selfless act, performed despite Joro's own inferiority complex, profoundly impacted her and fostered deep admiration.

Upon arriving at Nishikizuta High, Tsubaki instantly recognizes Joro. She demonstrates her devotion with a hand kiss, presenting it as a platonic pledge of eternal support. Her primary goal is to help Joro embrace his potential as the "main character" of his life, urging him to overcome his insecurities. While not romantically infatuated, she occasionally flusters when he compliments her.

Tsubaki actively integrates herself into Joro's life, including securing him a part-time job at her family's new restaurant branch. Her background involves managing the skewer stall during school events like baseball games and the sports festival. She shares a childhood friendship with Chifuyu "Hiiragi" Motoki, whose family runs a rival skewer restaurant. Their dynamic features friendly competition to outsell each other during festivals, adding a recurring comedic and occupational layer. Throughout the series, Tsubaki remains consistently focused on her steadfast commitment to supporting Joro's personal growth.
