Description
Karnatia Seri Anabald, called Katia, is the reincarnation of a Japanese high school boy named Ooshima Kanata. In that past life, Kanata privately lacked attraction to the opposite gender and executed a plan to falsely confess to classmate Wakaba Hiiro, anticipating rejection to gain social sympathy. An explosion killed Kanata's entire class, leading to rebirth as the daughter of Duke Anabald in the Kingdom of Analeit. This transition caused significant gender dysphoria as Katia contended with memories of her male identity while growing up female within noble society.
Katia attended the royal academy alongside other reincarnates, including Schlain "Shun" Zagan Analeit (her former friend Yamada Shunsuke). During Shun's appraisal ceremony, Katia deduced his reincarnated status from his unique skills and skill points. She revealed her identity by speaking Japanese, reestablishing their friendship. Katia frequently used masculine speech patterns around Shun and later Feirune (another reincarnated classmate), reflecting her internal conflict. Her noble upbringing granted political acumen, making her a key advisor to the politically naive Shun. She monitored suspicious kingdom activities, particularly those of Hugo Baint von Renxandt, a reincarnated classmate hostile toward Shun.
A pivotal event occurred during Hugo's coup against the Analeit royal family. Hugo used his Ruler Skill, Lust, to brainwash Katia, forcing her to attack Shun. Under this control, Katia experienced an internal split: her brainwashed self embodied her former male identity, Ooshima Kanata, while her suppressed consciousness resisted. To sabotage Hugo's command, she intentionally misfired a spell, fatally wounding herself. Shun resurrected her using his Ruler Skill, Mercy. This event catalyzed Katia's acceptance of her female identity; she declared Ooshima Kanata "dead" and resolved to live fully as Karnatia Seri Anabald. This resolution alleviated her gender dysphoria and granted her new skills: Divinity Expansion, Heresy Resistance, and Parallel Minds.
Post-transformation, Katia embraced her role as a noblewoman and Shun's protector. She became highly analytical, deducing political schemes like Filimøs Harrifenas's manipulation of the reincarnates. During the journey to the Elf Village, she distrusted Potimas and the elves, advising caution. Romantic feelings for Shun grew, though he remained oblivious, often viewing her through their past friendship. Katia navigated complex relationships, including Suelecia Analeit's (Shun's half-sister) hidden resentment and Hugo's enduring antagonism.
As a reincarnate, Katia possessed the standard skill "n% I = W," restoring health and resources upon leveling up. Her unique skill, "Transition," allowed conversion of skills into skill points (with diminishing returns). During a confrontation with the entity "D," she used Transition to sacrifice all skills except "n% I = W," purchasing the Ruler Skill "Chastity." This skill creates an area-of-effect barrier nullifying attacks, surpassing even the Divine Dragon Barrier in magic-weakening potency. Earlier, she trained in swordsmanship, wielding a rapier, though her proficiency level is unspecified.
