Description
Eida is a central character introduced in the latter part of the Boruto story, known for possessing god-like abilities that fundamentally alter the course of the narrative. She is a young woman of sixteen, easily recognized by her long blue hair with distinctive pink stripes and a beauty mark beneath each eye. Her attire typically features celestial motifs such as stars and moons, and she often accessorizes with blue earrings and bracelets, presenting a strikingly elegant appearance that complements her aloof demeanor.
Created by the scientist Amado, Eida is not a typical human but a highly advanced cyborg. Her body was modified using the DNA of the Otsutsuki god, Shibai, granting her powers that far exceed ordinary shinobi. Initially created as a weapon for the secret organization Kara, she was deemed too dangerous by the leader Jigen, who ordered her destruction. However, her latent abilities allowed her to subvert this command, leading to her being secretly kept in a state of cryogenic hibernation for years before being awakened by the Kara member Code.
Personality-wise, Eida presents a calm, high, and often distant exterior. She rarely shows deep concern for the affairs of the world around her. This coldness stems from her primary curse: an involuntary and absolute ability to charm nearly anyone who sees her, regardless of gender. This power makes it impossible for her to form authentic, equal relationships, as everyone she meets is magically compelled to adore and protect her without genuinely knowing her. Consequently, her deepest desire is to experience true, reciprocated love, something she feels she has been denied.
Her primary motivation is to find someone who can love her of their own free will, without the influence of her powers. This singular focus drives many of her actions throughout the story. She becomes infatuated with Kawaki, largely because, as a vessel for the Otsutsuki, he is one of the few individuals immune to her charm. His existence represents her only real chance at the normal romantic relationship she craves.
In the story, Eida initially serves as a wildcard. She forms a tentative alliance with Code, agreeing to use her powers to help him in exchange for his assistance in getting close to Kawaki. Her most significant role, however, is as the unwitting catalyst for the series' major turning point. When Kawaki's intense desire to protect the Seventh Hokage and eliminate the threat he sees in Boruto resonates with Eida's deep-seated abilities, she unconsciously activates a power known as Omnipotence. This reality-altering ability reshapes the memories of almost everyone on the planet, swapping the identities of Kawaki and Boruto in the minds of the global population. As a result, the world comes to believe that Kawaki is the true son of Naruto Uzumaki, while Boruto is branded a traitor and murderer.
Eida's key relationships are complex. She is fiercely protective of her younger brother, Daemon, who is an equally powerful cyborg. In contrast, her relationship with her creator, Amado, is filled with resentment, as she despises him for the powers that have cursed her to a life without authentic connection. Her partnership with Code is purely transactional and eventually collapses, leading her and Daemon to defect to the Hidden Leaf Village, where they live under the supervision of the Hokage's advisors.
Her notable abilities are all derived from Shinjutsu, the original, god-like techniques from which ninjutsu was born. Her primary ability is the Senrigan, a clairvoyant power that allows her to see any event happening in the present or any event that has occurred since the time of her birth, across all dimensions. Her most devastating ability is Omnipotence, described by Momoshiki Otsutsuki as the power gods used to create the world. This ability can manifest her strongest desires into reality, most notably rewriting the memories and perceptions of everyone on a global scale. She cannot fully control this ability, and it only affects ordinary humans, having no effect on direct blood relatives, the Otsutsuki clan, or those who have become Otsutsuki-fied. Finally, she possesses a passive charm that infatuates anyone who sees her, rendering them unable to harm her. This ability also does not work on Otsutsuki, her family, and for unexplained reasons, a select few like Sarada Uchiha and Sumire Kakei.
