TV-Series
Description
Yūichi Jin is a prominent Border Defense Agency agent based at the Tamakoma Branch, initially holding S-rank before being demoted to A-rank. As an Attacker, he stands 179 cm tall with brown hair and blue eyes, often wearing sunglasses on his head and the standard Border blue jacket with black-striped sleeves. He frequently carries and offers bonchiage rice crackers, considering them a favorite food.

His background includes losing his mother to a Neighbor attack, an event shaping his early life. He joined Border before its public formation, participating in multiple missions to the Neighborhood. These experiences led him to believe not all Neighbors are inherently hostile, advocating for human-Neighbor coexistence. Before the main events, he saved Osamu Mikumo from a Bamster during an infiltration attempt into Border headquarters.

Jin wields a unique Side Effect allowing him to perceive fragments of the near future for individuals he has met. These vague, occasional visions prove highly strategic in combat and decision-making. He initially used the Black Trigger Fūjin, created by his deceased mentor Soichi Mogami. Fūjin generates 11 energy blades capable of cutting anything within Jin's line of sight, but requires reloading after all blades are expended. Jin mitigated this weakness through foresight, deploying blades tactically.

During the Black Trigger Capture Arc, Jin defied orders to steal Yūma Kuga's Black Trigger, leading to a confrontation with Border's top squads. To ensure Yūma's safety and enlistment, he surrendered Fūjin in exchange, resulting in his demotion. He later regained Fūjin temporarily during the Galopoula invasion. In combat, Jin employs Triggers like the lightweight, shape-shifting blade Scorpion, which he developed to suit his style, and Escudo for creating defensive walls to trap opponents. He previously used Kogetsu but found it incompatible.

Jin displays a consistently laid-back and aloof demeanor, even in high-stakes situations. He intervenes strategically to protect allies, such as persuading agents not to target Yūma, warning Miwa to save Osamu during an invasion, and manipulating events to ensure Hyuse's integration into Tamakoma Second. He manipulated events through a wager with Hyuse that Tamakoma Second would win their B-rank match, resulting in Hyuse demanding Jin's assistance to return to Aftokrator—a promise Jin honored by recruiting Hyuse for Osamu's squad. His foresight guides many actions, including predicting Osamu's potential death during the Large-Scale Invasion and identifying non-threatening futures for civilians ahead of the Galopoula incursion.

The spin-off *Talented Elite Jin* depicts him with an older appearance, a darker uniform, and a katana-like weapon.
