Description
Ai Kitora is a 15-year-old human female and A-rank combatant in the defense organization Border, serving as the Arashiyama Squad's ace fighter. Born on June 26 and standing 162 cm tall, she attends Seirin Girls' Academy's middle school division alongside fellow Border agents Kirie Konami and Rei Nasu.

She has short black hair and violet eyes, typically wearing her school uniform with an overlaid jacket. In combat, she sports a red high-collared athletic jacket with black-and-white striped sleeves, black leggings, the Border emblem on her shoulders, and her squad insignia on her chest.

Kitora displays arrogance from achieving A-rank status in middle school, frequently emphasizing her elite position and belittling lower-ranked agents like Osamu Mikumo. She strictly enforces Border's regulations, openly criticizing violations such as Mikumo's unauthorized C-rank Trigger use against Neighbors. Prone to jealousy, she resents Mikumo for receiving mentorship from Kyōsuke Karasuma, whom she admires and potentially harbors romantic feelings for. Despite this, she demonstrates humility by refusing unearned credit, assisting those in need, and showing squad loyalty. She craves validation from superiors and respect from juniors, reacting visibly when treated coldly by agents like Futaba Kuroe.

As an All-Rounder combatant, she wields the Trigger Scorpion for close-range engagements and is among twelve candidates considered to inherit the Black Trigger Fūjin. Her strategic acumen recognizes traps' psychological impact beyond physical damage. She values self-discipline and enjoys spicy food.

Key story moments include her initial dismissal of Mikumo's capabilities, where she challenged his achievements and tested her skills against a Neighbor to prove his success was a fluke. During an Ilgar invasion, she confronted a Neighbor alone to showcase her A-rank prowess but required Yūma Kuga's assistance when overwhelmed, later denying personal credit for its defeat. In the Galopoula invasion, she supported Kuroe mid-battle by advising energy conservation and observed Inukai's interaction with Kuroe's twintails.

Her relationships blend rivalry and respect: she views Mikumo as a rival, scrutinizes his actions while reluctantly acknowledging his growth, and clashes with Kuga over Border's policies and ethics. She respects squad captain Jun Arashiyama yet questions his leniency toward rule-breakers. Her mentorship under Karasuma fuels envy toward Mikumo, complicating their dynamic, while she shows protectiveness and concern over perceived slights from Kuroe.

Her name reflects her character: "Ai" (藍) means "indigo," and "Kitora" (木虎) translates to "wooden tiger."
