Description
Izumi Toraishi is a student at Ayanagi Gakuen High School, enrolled in the Musical Department as a candidate. He belongs to Team Hiragi and is in his second year, having started in class 1-C before advancing to class 2-MS. Born on April 12th, his blood type is B, and he stands 176 cm tall. He has gray eyes and black hair with distinctive red highlights at the tips of the left side of his bangs, which are parted to the right. His school uniform is worn in a deliberately loose and untucked style, often without the standard vest and with his blazer left unbuttoned, reflecting his fashionable and carefree nature.

Toraishi is frequently characterized as a playboy or lover boy, known for dating many women and being very popular due to his handsome looks. On the surface, he projects a cool, laid-back, and extremely casual attitude. This carefree demeanor, however, belies a more serious side that becomes evident in his dedication to the craft of musical theater. Despite his reputation as a ladies' man, he works hard at singing and dancing, which is essential for his position as a candidate in the Musical Department and a member of an elite team like Team Hiragi. His motivations for pursuing musicals are rooted in his relationship with his childhood friend, Shu Kuga. Initially, Toraishi was not particularly interested in musicals, but after Kuga introduced him to them, he gradually began to take them seriously. While he started following his friend's passion, he has since developed his own genuine desire to perform on stage and hopes to earn the cheers of an excited crowd. His entrance audition score was an S rank, indicating a high level of natural ability. His past as a delinquent who often fought during middle school and played baseball contributes to a hidden protective instinct, as he cannot forgive those who bully women and children.

The most significant relationship in Toraishi's life is with Shu Kuga, his childhood friend and former middle school classmate. The dynamic between them is close but marked by a specific formality: Toraishi addresses Kuga by his first name, Shu, while Kuga calls him by his last name, Toraishi. Kuga is the reason Toraishi became involved with musicals, and their shared history forms a deep bond. However, this friendship is also a source of playful conflict. Toraishi has a habit of borrowing Kuga's belongings, including his motorcycle, and frequently misplaces or fails to return them, which is a recurring point of tension. Despite this, their relationship is foundational, and they have even performed together in pieces like the duet HEROISM++. Within his team, he often has to manage the antics of Seishiro Inumine, whose dog-like behavior leads Toraishi to throw his shoe at him to get his attention, a relationship others note requires great patience. He is also very fond of Toru Nayuki, whose cooking he adores; he affectionately calls him Nayuki-chan and is delighted whenever there is an opportunity to eat his food, once jokingly remarking that Nayuki would be perfect if he were not a man.

Toraishi shows clear signs of development over the course of the story. He transitions from someone who only started doing musicals because his friend was into them to a committed artist who works hard at his training. His character is a blend of his rebellious, delinquent past and his present dedication to the refined art of musical theater. His background has also shaped his personality in unexpected ways. He is very scared of his mother, a former yankee who used to hit both him and Kuga. Ironically, his mother also dotes on puppy-like or princely-type people, which has led some to deduce that Toraishi's own urge to take care of others likely comes from her. Despite his confident and flirtatious exterior, Toraishi has several notable weaknesses. He is easily troubled when he sees women cry, cries easily himself when reading manga, and admits to fearing the yankees he fought in his past. Academically, he excels in physical education and memorizing scientific and mathematical concepts, but he is weaker in the humanities. In terms of abilities, beyond his S-rank level singing and dancing, he is also a capable fighter from his middle school days and knows how to drive a motorcycle. He thrives in lively, crowded places and prefers sunny weather and black coffee.
