Description
Michio Tsukui, also known by the alias Dotsuku, is the Warrior of the Dog in the twelfth Zodiac Tournament, a battle royale that takes place once every twelve years. He appears to be a man in his twenties or thirties, with black hair and dog-like ears. His sclera are black and his irises are blue. He has sharp claws and fangs that he uses as his primary weapons, and he carries a long knife on his belt. He stands 177 centimeters tall and weighs 53 kilograms. By day, he works as a daycare teacher and is well-liked by parents and children. However, this is a cover for his true profession: he secretly locates children who possess special gifts and delivers them to organizations that seek them out. He does not use weapons as a matter of principle; his fighting style relies entirely on biting with his teeth, a technique that makes him a feared opponent. He is highly aware of his own strength and resourcefulness, and he carries himself with a quiet confidence. In the context of the tournament, he is an early casualty, killed by the Rooster at the end of the second episode. In the sequel novel, he has a more substantial role and is connected to the backstories of other warriors, particularly the Ox, the Boar, and the Rat. His motivations for entering the Zodiac War are not extensively detailed in the original story, but his willingness to participate in the tournament alongside his daycare persona creates a strong contrast between his gentle civilian identity and his brutal combat side. His key relationship within the tournament appears to be with the Ox, with whom he shares a degree of camaraderie in expanded material. His development is limited by his early death, but his dual life as a caregiver and a hunter of gifted children suggests a deeply pragmatic and possibly conflicted nature.
