Description
Kirina Hiura is a second-year student and a midfielder for Inakuni Raimon, wearing the number seven jersey. He originally comes from Inakunijima Island, where he was a member of the local soccer team before it was disbanded by their coach. His family consists of his grandmother, with whom he has a close bond and whom he often references when making personal vows.
In terms of appearance, Hiura has spiky light blue hair, light purple eyes, and fair skin. His typical casual outfit includes a white hoodie sweater with black lines, black pants, and black shoes with white soles.
Hiura possesses a calm, analytical, and perceptive personality, often observing details that others miss. He is described as having an "ice smile," a nickname given by those around him because his smile appears particularly cool and composed. While he maintains a cool and level-headed demeanor, especially during matches, he values friendship and has a pure, somewhat grown-up character. He lives with his grandmother and shows a strong affection for her. Despite his intelligence, he can become so absorbed in something that his focus narrows, revealing a slightly absent-minded side.
Hiura's motivations are rooted in his love for soccer and his desire to honor his grandmother. After the dissolution of his original team, he decides to leave Inakunijima and travel to Inazuma Town to continue playing, a decision he discusses with his grandmother before departing. Once in Inazuma Town, the team stays at the Kogarashi Manor and becomes Inakuni Raimon to compete in the Football Frontier tournament under the guidance of coach Zhao Jinyun.
In the story, Hiura initially struggles alongside his teammates, suffering a heavy 1-10 loss against Seishou Gakuen. During a match against Minodouzan, he recalls special training from his coach and reveals his signature hissatsu technique, Koori no Ya (Arrow of Ice). He uses this technique to pass the ball through the opponent's defensive wall to his teammate Asuto Inamori, who scores the winning goal. He later develops combination techniques such as Meteor Drop with Asuto Inamori and Sasuke Kozoumaru. In later tournaments, he refines his abilities further, learning techniques like the long-range shot Ice Spear.
Hiura has key relationships with several characters. He is close friends with Asuto Inamori, whom he calls by his first name, and the two are often seen interacting supportively. He also demonstrates concern for his teammates' well-being, such as when he explains the health risks to Nosaka Yuuma and warns Haizaki Ryouhei to prevent further injury. His analytical skills make him a reliable figure for clarifying complex situations, and he often takes on a detective-like role, investigating mysteries such as the identity of a disguised individual, which he vows to solve in his grandmother's name. He is also perceptive enough to deduce that an opponent was using hypnosis tricks against his team.
Notable abilities include his sharp observational skills and tactical ingenuity. On the field, his position as a midfielder allows him to contribute both offensively and defensively. His hissatsu technique Koori no Ya demonstrates his strategic growth, initially used as a pass to break through defenses and later developed into a shooting technique. He also participates in advanced tactics, such as Ouja no Takt under Nosaka's leadership, and combination hissatsu techniques including Death Crusher Zone with other skilled players.
