Impressed by his ability, Jun adopted him and brought him to Japan, where Professor Hayama became his godfather and gave him his surname. Akira is normally calm, confident, and composed, with an air of quiet self-assurance rooted in his profound culinary abilities. He is fiercely loyal and protective of Jun, consistently putting her well-being first and refusing lucrative job offers to remain her assistant. At Tōtsuki Culinary Academy, he quickly established himself as a prodigy, winning the 43rd Autumn Election by defeating rivals including Soma Yukihira and Ryo Kurokiba. His signature ability is an exceptional sense of smell that rivals the God Tongue, allowing him to master spice-based cuisine and create dishes where aroma, flavor, and texture are in perfect harmony. During Azami Nakiri’s takeover, Akira was coerced into joining the Central organization to protect Jun, adopting a more arrogant and distant demeanor, but he later reconciled with his peers after Central’s defeat.
