Alan Kay, a researcher abducted by the terrorist organization Humarise, is forced to develop Trigger Bombs under threats to his family. He displays dark brown hair, gray eyes, and a disheveled appearance, notably wearing an eye patch over a scarred right eye. His typical attire includes a white shirt, brown pants, and brown shoes. Demonstrating bravery and self-sacrifice, Alan risks his life to escape Humarise with a deactivation key engineered by his executed colleague Eddie Soul. Despite coercion into creating weapons to exterminate Quirk users, he records a plea urging anyone who finds the key to halt Humarise's genocide, prioritizing others' lives over his own. Abducted alongside other scientists by Quirk-fearing Humarise, Alan designs Trigger Bombs that release Ideo Trigger gas, causing Quirk-induced destruction. After Humarise detonates a bomb in a city, Alan flees with the deactivation key hidden inside a puzzle box within a document-filled suitcase. Pursued across a highway by Humarise agent Beros, Alan suffers a car crash from her Longbow Quirk. The suitcase is lost and retrieved by courier Rody Soul during an unrelated theft. Alan is hospitalized in critical condition under police guard, rendered comatose and unable to communicate. His suitcase contents—including the puzzle box—are recovered by Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, Shoto Todoroki, and Rody Soul. The box's microSD reveals Alan's message: Humarise's true plan uses bombs as decoys to trap and eradicate global heroes simultaneously. The recording explains the deactivation key's purpose and Eddie Soul's sacrifice, revealing to Rody that his father never willingly abandoned his family. Alan's advanced scientific and engineering skills enable both Trigger Bomb development and collaboration on the kill-switch device. His actions allow the protagonists to deactivate the bombs and thwart Humarise's genocide plot, though he remains comatose during the resolution.
