Description
Kazuya Mishima serves as a central figure in the anime film Tekken: Blood Vengeance, embodying the role of a major antagonist. He is the son of Heihachi Mishima and the father of Jin Kazama, placing him squarely in the middle of the violent, multi-generational conflict that defines the Mishima family bloodline.

Kazuya is characterized by his ruthless ambition and an insatiable lust for power. His personality is cold, calculating, and driven by a deep-seated hatred for his father, Heihachi, who threw him off a cliff as a child in an attempt to kill him. This traumatic event forged Kazuya into a cruel and unforgiving individual who seeks revenge and will stop at nothing to destroy his father and seize control of the Mishima Zaibatsu. In contrast to Heihachi, who producer Katsuhiro Harada described as having a more human dark side, Kazuya is portrayed as having a pure, corrupted darkness.

In Tekken: Blood Vengeance, Kazuya's primary motivation is to gain the power of immortality. To this end, he and his father both seek to capture a young man named Shin Kamiya, who is the sole survivor of one of Heihachi's cruel experiments and is believed to hold the secret to eternal life. Kazuya's role in the story places him in opposition not only to Heihachi but also to his son, Jin. While both father and son despise Heihachi, their methods and ultimate goals put them into conflict with each other, leading to a climactic three-way battle. His role in the film also shows him as a leader of G Corporation, employing characters like Anna Williams and manipulating Ling Xiaoyu to do his bidding.

Key relationships define Kazuya's actions. His relationship with his father, Heihachi, is one of mutual, deadly hatred. His connection to his son, Jin Kazama, is complex and antagonistic; Jin despises his Mishima bloodline and seeks to eradicate the Devil Gene that his father possesses. Kazuya also has a complicated history with Jun Kazama, Jin's mother and his former lover, though this is more backstory than a focus in the film. Other family relations include his mother, Kazumi Mishima, who originally passed on the Devil Gene, and his half-brother, Lars Alexandersson.

Throughout the film, Kazuya shows little to no character development, remaining a steadfast symbol of villainy. He is a static character who is fully in control of his dark nature. A key aspect of his portrayal is his acceptance and mastery of his demonic heritage. Unlike his son, who struggles against the Devil Gene, Kazuya has fully embraced its power, viewing it as a tool to achieve his goals.

Kazuya possesses notable abilities derived from both rigorous training and his supernatural lineage. His primary fighting style is Mishima-ryu Karate, a powerful and aggressive form of martial arts. His most defining ability is his control over the Devil Gene, a demonic mutation inherited from his mother. This allows him to transform into Devil Kazuya, a far more powerful demonic form. In this state, he gains the ability to fly, fire energy projectiles known as the Devil Blaster or Inferno, and displays superhuman strength and durability. This transformation is used in the film's climax, where he battles both Heihachi and Jin, demonstrating a level of power that far exceeds his human capabilities.
