TV-Series
Description
Pace is a twenty-five-year-old member of the Arcana Famiglia who holds the position of head of the Wands division and serves as deputy chief executive within the organization. He is one of the main characters of the story and one of the love interests of Felicità. Physically, he is tall, with brown hair and gold-coloured eyes, and he wears glasses and several rings.
His background is marked by hardship. He was born to a nobleman, the feudal lord of Regalo, and his second wife, Caterina. Because the lord's first wife had struggled to bear children, her son Alberto was born later than Pace. Alberto's mother treated Pace and Caterina cruelly, and the two eventually left the manor to live in poverty at a church. This difficult upbringing contrasts with the cheerful and open manner he shows in adult life.
In terms of personality, Pace is the cheerful mood-maker of the family, a friendly and dependable older-brother type with a natural gift for drawing people to him. He can be something of a joker and acts on instinct and gut feeling rather than logic, often preferring to solve problems with his fists. He is also a glutton, with lasagna being his favourite food, and he has very poor eyesight, which is why he wears glasses. Despite his carefree surface, he is reliable in practice, regularly stepping in as substitute captain when the director is away and taking on the role of mediator between the islanders and the executives, handling negotiations and the coordination of the different divisions.
Within the story, Pace is one of the contenders in the Arcana Duello, the tournament held to decide the successor to the head of the family, and his participation places him in direct competition with the other members while also tying him to the fate of Felicità, whom he addresses as Princess. His motives are rooted in loyalty to his friends and to the island they protect, and his warm, protective nature shapes his interactions with those around him.
His most important relationships are with Debito and Luca, his childhood friends whom he grew up alongside; like them, he holds a strong dislike for Jolly. He is also close to Felicità, and his bond with her is one of the central connections in his character arc. His development over the course of the series reflects the tension between his playful, impulsive exterior and the sense of responsibility he carries, as he moves between lighthearted antics and the serious duties of leadership and combat.
In terms of abilities, Pace holds a contract with the eleventh arcana, Strength, which grants him physical power described as monstrous and leaves an arcana mark on the back of his hand. His weapon of choice is his fists, and he relies on hand-to-hand combat in battle, a fighting style consistent with his instinct-driven and direct approach to conflict.
