Description
Madoka Kyono is the protagonist of Rinne no Lagrange: Kamogawa Days. She is a seventeen-year-old student at Kamogawa Girls' High School who serves as the sole member of the school's Jersey Club. Her defining trait is her boundless energy and passionate enthusiasm for helping others. She regularly assists other clubs and anyone in need around her hometown of Kamogawa, a coastal city she deeply loves. When she finishes a task, she has a habit of cheerfully saying "maru," a Japanese word for the circle used to mark correct answers on tests, as a way of signaling completion.
Madoka's background includes a pivotal childhood event: ten years before the story begins, she nearly drowned in the sea and encountered a strange robotic entity that saved her. That entity is later revealed to be the Vox Aura, an ancient robotic aircraft called an Ovoid. When a mysterious girl from the planet Le Garite named Lan arrives on Earth and asks Madoka to pilot the Vox Aura, Madoka agrees without hesitation. Her motivation is simple and sincere: she wants to protect the people and the city she loves. She names her personal Vox unit "Midori," after its green color.
