Description
Albus, the Mooncaller Witch, descends from the legendary witch Sorena, her grandmother. After her witch mother and human father perished defending one another in her youth, Albus was raised by Sorena until the latter’s execution amid anti-witch conflicts. Inheriting the Mooncaller mantle, she established the Magic Academy of Wenias as its first female headmistress. To evade persecution tied to her heritage, she once masqueraded as a boy with a masculine alias and androgynous guise, concealing her true identity until her gender was later uncovered. Her original name remains a secret.
In her youth, Albus journeyed with the protagonists of *Grimoire of Zero*, sharing her expertise in magic and political intrigue. She once defied corrupt sorcerers, accepting a death sentence over complicity, only surviving through the aid of allies such as Mercenary and Holdem—a wolf beastfallen bound by oath to safeguard Sorena’s bloodline, who evolved into her steadfast protector.
Leading the academy, Albus champions coexistence among humans, witches, and beastfallen, enforcing strict protocols like mandatory approval for spellcasting. She dispatches students—including Saybil, Holt, and Kudo—on hazardous quests to investigate post-war remnants called Remnants of Disaster, seeking to mend divides and neutralize enduring dangers.
Her arcane prowess spans memory-altering spells, exemplified by erasing Saybil’s traumatic past, and elemental mastery over earth, fire, and light for both offense and defense, complemented by profound healing magic. These abilities stem from her command of the Grimoire of Zero, a tome housing formidable and volatile sorcery.
Albus merges patriotic fervor with a lighthearted facade, underpinned by an unyielding dedication to peace. Pragmatic yet empathetic, she navigates leadership with dry wit. Her bond with Holdem oscillates between mutual respect and tension, shaped by their shared past and relentless guardianship of the academy’s ideals.
