Description
Albert Heinrich, designated Cyborg 004, originates from East Germany during the Cold War era. His life was irrevocably shattered by a failed attempt to escape to the West with his fiancée, Hilda. The details of their escape vary across adaptations, involving either a truck crash or a plane incident, but the outcome remains tragically constant: the plan was discovered, gunfire erupted, and Hilda was killed, leaving Albert critically injured. Agents of the criminal organization Black Ghost arrived at the scene, promising medical aid, but instead took him to be transformed into a living weapon. Due to the catastrophic damage to his body, his transformation was the most extensive among the first cyborgs. Nearly all of his organic components were replaced with cybernetics, leaving only his brain, spinal cord, and part of his nervous system intact. This process made him the most mechanized member of the team.
