Description
Chief Haro serves as the commanding officer of the Super Dimensional Guard, the military organization known as the SDG that is charged with protecting Neotopia from the invading forces of the Dark Axis. His physical appearance is distinctive: he seems to be a tall humanoid figure, but his head is a large, spherical Haro unit that functions as a helmet, effectively masking his true face and identity from everyone around him. This Haro helmet retains the characteristic red lights for eyes and can fold its panels, with small wings on the cap that sometimes flip up.

In terms of personality, Chief Haro is portrayed as a strict yet fair and competent leader. He is consistently dedicated to his duty and maintains a professional demeanor, though he also possesses a sense of humor, making him an ideal commanding officer who earns the deep trust of his diverse and often eccentric subordinates, including the development主任 Kao Lin and other team members like Bell Wood. One of his primary motivations is the preservation of peace and security in Neotopia. To achieve this, he strategically deploys the Gundam Force as needed to counter the Dark Axis threat. He also places a high priority on secrecy, keeping the SDG's operations as quiet and confidential as possible to protect their hidden base, which is a giant hand-shaped ship suspended in the sky by a cable attached to a satellite and disguised as a cloud.

Chief Haro's role in the story is central to the command structure of the SDG, as he is responsible for directing the team and issuing their missions. He maintains key relationships with the main characters, acting as a trusted commander to Captain Gundam and the other Gundam Force units, and working closely with the chief developer, Kao Lin. A significant aspect of his character is the ongoing mystery of his true identity. Throughout much of the series, hints suggest that he is not a simple robot but a human in disguise. This speculation is fueled by several factors, including his humanoid build, a moment in the second season where he is seen hugging the mother of the human boy Shute, and the fact that his Japanese voice actor is the same as Shute's father, leading fans to theorize he might be a hidden parent figure. However, the series reportedly never definitively reveals who is beneath the helmet, leaving his true nature and face a mystery.

Chief Haro also undergoes a notable development in the series towards the final battle. While he typically operates from a command center, he personally demonstrates tremendous and surprising combat ability when he single-handedly fights against the powerful enemy General Gi-Ong, displaying skills reminiscent of a Gundam Fighter. This moment reveals that behind his administrative and secretive exterior, he possesses formidable individual power. Beyond his combat skills, his notable abilities include leadership and strategic planning, as well as piloting the Gunperry Carrier, a vertical take-off and landing aircraft he used to transport the Gundam Force to mission sites before the completion of the SDG base.
