Description
Melon is one of the three identical triplet maids who serve in the Hanaukyo household, alongside her sisters Lemon and Marron. In the anime series Hanaukyo Maid Team: La Verite, these three are distinctive for their youthful, teenage appearance, characterized by long chestnut or maroon hair that reaches their waist and black eyes. As part of their uniform, they typically wear a headdress and style their hair in twintails, which helps distinguish them from the vast ranks of other maids in the mansion.

The three sisters are assigned to the Physical Health Department of the Hanaukyo estate, a department also known as the Osoba Goyou-tai. However, the nature of their duties frequently deviates from standard health and wellness activities. Melon, along with her siblings, is characterized by a rather vivid and questionable imagination. This trait manifests in their primary narrative function, which involves persistently attempting various lewd acts on the young master of the house, Taro Hanaukyo, particularly around his bedtime.

The primary motivation driving Melon's actions is a blatant and open attraction to Taro. Unlike some other maids who might express their devotion through formal service or protective duties, Melon and her sisters are far more forward, viewing their proximity to the master as an opportunity for personal, physical engagement. Their role in the story is largely comedic, providing a recurring source of humor derived from Taro's attempts to evade their amorous advances and the sheer persistence of the triplets in their pursuit.

Melon's most significant relationships are, first and foremost, with her identical sisters, Lemon and Marron. They function almost as a single unit, working in perfect coordination to corner their target. Their shared goal and synchronized actions make them an inseparable trio within the household. Key relationships with other characters are defined by the reaction they provoke; specifically, Taro Hanaukyo serves as the reluctant object of their affection, and the humor of the situation often depends on his varied, but consistently unsuccessful, attempts to avoid their ambushes.

Regarding character development, Melon and her sisters remain largely static figures throughout the series. Their behavior and motivations are consistent from their first appearance to their last, as their primary function is to deliver a specific brand of recurring comedy. They do not undergo a significant transformation or a deep character arc, instead maintaining their role as the energetic and amorous pests of the mansion. Notably, in this version of the series, they sing the ending theme song, Osewashimasu! which translates to You Take Care of Yourself!.

Melon does not possess supernatural or combat-oriented abilities like some other members of the maid staff. Her notable skills are purely social and practical: the ability to blend in and coordinate perfectly with her identical sisters, a seemingly inexhaustible supply of energy and persistence, and a creative imagination focused on thinking up new schemes to get close to Taro. Their collective success in creating chaotic, embarrassing, and humorous situations for the protagonist is their primary talent.
