Shinpu, commonly called Priest, serves as a priest in the southern village church hosting special magic academy training. His past lies with the Church's ruthless Arbiters faction, hunting and eliminating witches and sorcerers, where he committed coldblooded murders.

Extreme photosensitivity forces him to wear a black blindfold over his eyes during daylight, removing it only at night to reveal gray eyes. Despite his violent history, his demeanor remains consistently calm, stoic, and levelheaded. He possesses specialized skills in lie detection and micro-expression analysis, discerning truthfulness through subtle body language cues, and maintains peak physical condition.

He exhibits strong protective instincts toward Lilly, a timid mouse beastfallen assisting at the church, regarding her with paternal affection as a daughter figure. Initially, residual hostility toward witches and magic users surfaces, leading him to apologize for rude behavior stemming from ingrained prejudice from his Church faction days. This attitude gradually shifts through collaboration with witches like Zero and Loux Krystas defending the village.

During the village's defense against Church forces, he actively fights Beastfallen mercenaries to rescue captured Lilly. He participates in strategic planning with other protectors, contributing his observational skills to identify threats. Interactions with characters like Mercenary and Holdem feature moments of comradely bickering over shared hardships, indicating his integration into the community despite an isolated nature. His background as a reformed assassin informs his commitment to protecting the village, representing a personal redemption arc.
