TV Special
Description
Ami Mizuno, known as Amy Anderson in some versions, is the civilian identity of Sailor Mercury, the Guardian of Water and Wisdom. She is a teenage girl with short, dark blue hair and blue eyes, sometimes seen wearing reading glasses, and stands approximately five feet and two inches tall. Her birthday is on September tenth, and her blood type is A. She attends junior high school, where she is widely recognized as a genius with an exceptionally high IQ, consistently achieving top scores on national exams. Her dream is to become a doctor like her mother, a busy and successful physician. She lives with her mother; her parents are divorced, and her father, a painter, is largely absent, sending only occasional birthday cards. Ami is shy, reserved, and remarkably studious, often serving as the voice of reason and the strategic planner for the Sailor Guardians. Although her quiet nature has sometimes been misinterpreted as aloofness, she is deeply kind, loyal, and gentle, with a strong aversion to unnecessary conflict. Her closest friendship is with Usagi Tsukino (Serena), who helped her come out of her shell. In battle, Sailor Mercury uses a handheld supercomputer and a blue visor or goggles to analyze enemies and identify weaknesses. Her powers are tied to water and knowledge, including attacks such as Shabon Spray, Shine Aqua Illusion, and, in the SuperS arc, Mercury Aqua Rhapsody, which manifests a harp of water. With the help of Pegasus, she gains the ability to transform into Super Sailor Mercury using the Crystal Change Rod. During the SuperS season, her dream mirror is targeted by Tiger's Eye of the Amazon Trio. In the special Ami's First Love, she receives a love letter and becomes fixated on a mysterious academic rival named Mercurius, ultimately defeating the youma Bonnon with her Mercury Aqua Mirage attack.
