TV-Series
Description
Maaya is introduced as a merchant who initially joins adventuring parties with the intention of stealing loot and absconding with their money. This untrustworthy and self-serving approach stems from a traumatic event in her childhood: in her hometown of Alberta, she was abused after attempting to sell apples from a cart she had made herself. This early hardship shaped her into a survival-driven character who looks out for herself first.

Her first meeting with the main group occurs in the Prontera Sewers, where Roan and Yufa rescue her from a swarm of Thief Bugs. She later repays the debt by delivering a Blue Potion to Yufa during a fight against a Golden Thief Bug, marking the beginning of her gradual integration into the party. Over time, as she grows attached to Yufa and the others, Maaya abandons her roguish ways and becomes a more loyal and dependable member of the group.

Maaya has a notable affinity for monsters and is rarely seen without her pet Poring, named Poy-Poy. In one episode, she befriends a human-like monster named Alice, showing her capacity for compassion toward beings that others fear or dismiss. This friendship ends tragically when Alice is killed due to the actions of Zealotus, a half-monster who despises humans. In a later confrontation in Comodo, Maaya nearly kills Zealotus out of revenge, but the spirit of Alice appears and convinces her to forgive him. Maaya makes peace with Zealotus, demonstrating her ability to grow beyond bitterness and choose mercy.

Throughout the series, Maaya is the only member of the party who does not advance to a new job class. Her primary abilities are the merchant skills Mammonite and Cart Revolution, and she also uses thrown potions in a manner similar to an Alchemist. Her role in the story is that of a pragmatic and resourceful ally who, despite her rough edges and initial selfishness, becomes a genuine friend willing to fight for the group and let go of past pain.
