After the Kirihara brothers escaped the facility, they sustained communication with Mikuriya and later aided him during a pivotal event in episode 14. During a 2023 meeting, Mikuriya revealed a prophecy foretelling the transcendence of psychics to another world, leaving the remaining population on a decaying Earth. This disclosure connected to broader societal upheavals, including World War III, which masked the psychics' departure.

Mikuriya had previously assured the brothers that society would eventually accept individuals with psychic abilities, fostering their initial hope upon escaping the center. This assurance starkly contrasted with the reality of 2041 Tokyo, where supernatural phenomena were systematically denied and suppressed. His role encompassed both imposing the brothers' isolation and later providing critical information about their origins and the world's transformation.
