Description
Nepgear, also known as Purple Sister, serves as the CPU Candidate of Planeptune, representing the fictitious Sega handheld console, the N-Gear, inspired by the real-world Sega Game Gear. She is the younger sister of Neptune, Planeptune's CPU, yet often exhibits a more mature demeanor, sometimes causing confusion about their birth order.

Her personality blends genuine kindness with persistent self-doubt. She frequently apologizes excessively and shrinks in uncertainty during unfamiliar situations. This lack of confidence stems partly from past trauma, including a three-year imprisonment leaving her prone to fear when loved ones face crises. Despite this, she demonstrates strong responsibility towards her duties and resilience when protecting others. She possesses a keen interest in technology and robotics, showing notable skill in repairing and building machines, an enthusiasm that sometimes manifests as eccentric behavior.

She shares an intensely close bond with her sister Neptune, expressing deep concern for her well-being and actively seeking her approval. She forms meaningful friendships with other CPU Candidates like Uni, Rom, and Ram, remaining loyal even during conflicts. Her interactions include occasional playful teasing, particularly toward characters like IF.

During the Planeptune Costume Festival in "Nep Nep Darake no Festival," she participates alongside Neptune and Histoire. When Neptune collapses from exhaustion, Nepgear attempts to manage the situation responsibly. Faced with hosting a scheduled monster-fighting show alone, she experiences severe stage fright during the live announcement. Assisted by an alternate-dimension Neptune, she conquers her nervousness. Transforming into Purple Sister, she performs alongside the older Neptune in the show, battling Eggplanters using abilities like Mirage Dance and Nep Slash, demonstrating her capacity to rise to challenges.

In human form, she wields a beamsword. As Purple Sister, her weapon shifts to a gunblade capable of melee strikes and energy projectiles. Her combat abilities include Mirage Dance, Slash Wave (which becomes M.P.B.L. in HDD), Panzer Blade, and powerful EXE Drive attacks like Celestial Severance and Bits Combination. She also utilizes support magic for healing and stat enhancement.

Her transformation into Purple Sister alters her appearance: her hair lengthens and turns pinkish, her eyes shift to blue, and she dons a white bodysuit with purple accents and thigh-high boots. Unlike Neptune's more pronounced personality shift in HDD, her core traits remain consistent post-transformation, though she exhibits marginally greater confidence. The process relies on Share Energy from her nation's citizens; prolonged separation from this energy or exposure to Anti Energy severely weakens her.
