Description
M.D. Krauser is a secondary antagonist in the anime M.D. Geist II: Death Force. He is a genetically engineered soldier, designated MD-01, making him a precursor to the protagonist Geist within the Most Dangerous Soldier program. Unlike Geist, whose Bioclone cells function stably, Krauser requires regular restoration processes to maintain his body, a weakness that stems from his status as an earlier model. In the aftermath of the Death Force activation, which devastated the planet Jerra, Krauser takes command of the surviving human population. He establishes a mobile fortress equipped with camouflage technology that shields it and his soldiers from detection by the Death Force machines, presenting himself as the last hope for humanity. His personality is defined by ambition and a desire for power and fame. He claims the role of a savior and even a god-like figure to his followers, distinguishing him from Geist, who acts purely on instinct and programming. Krauser is motivated by personal glory and control rather than any sense of compassion or duty. In the story, he serves as the primary obstacle to Geist, opposing his chaotic and destructive nature with an organized, though self-serving, plan for survival. His key relationship is with Geist, whom he encounters and initially defeats in combat by throwing him from a bridge into a waste disposal chasm. Later, Krauser collaborates with remnants of the Regular and Negsrom Armies to devise a plan to lure the Death Force machines into an artificial city and destroy them with a Jignix Bomb. However, Geist betrays this plan by leading the Death Force toward Krauser's fortress, resulting in the deaths of Krauser's commandos. In the final confrontation, Krauser engages Geist in hand-to-hand combat while the Death Force overwhelms his fortress and its refugees. He is ultimately killed by Geist. Notable abilities include his genetic enhancements as a Most Dangerous Soldier, which grant him superhuman combat skills, and his leadership and tactical acumen in protecting his fortress. Despite his physical prowess, his reliance on periodic biological stabilization and his inability to match Geist's relentless nature lead to his downfall.
