OVA
Description
Mitty is a character who originally appears in the Gall Force series and later appears as a supporting participant in the crossover OVA Scramble Wars: Tsuppashire! Genom Trophy Rally. Her background before the events of Scramble Wars is established in Gall Force: Chikyuu Shou, where she is introduced as a young vagabond surviving in a post-apocalyptic environment. She searches the rubble-strewn remains of cities for food and shelter, living hand-to-mouth in a harsh world. Her life changes when she is discovered by a girl named Sandy, after which Mitty begins following Sandy’s band of resistance fighters. Despite her difficult upbringing, Mitty is full of optimism and possesses a resilient, tough nature that allows her to keep up with the older members of the group. Her firsthand experience navigating ruined urban landscapes gives her practical knowledge, particularly of sewer systems, which proves useful to her new companions.

In Scramble Wars, Mitty joins the chaotic, no-holds-barred race for the Genom Trophy alongside characters from several other sci-fi anime. Her role in this story is that of a cheerful and determined contestant, contributing to the ensemble comedy and racing mayhem. Her motivations are aligned with the overall goal of winning the trophy, though her personal drive likely stems from her enduring optimism and desire to prove herself. Her key relationships include her connection to Sandy and the resistance fighters from her original series, though in Scramble Wars she interacts with a wide cast of racers from franchises such as Bubblegum Crisis and Genesis Survivor Gaiarth. As a crossover event, the OVA does not provide significant character development for Mitty, but her established traits of youthful energy and resourcefulness are carried over. Her notable abilities include her scavenging skills, familiarity with underground routes, and a general toughness that enables her to endure the absurd obstacles and slapstick dangers of the race. Overall, Mitty brings a spirited, underdog presence to the ensemble, representing resilience and cheerfulness in the face of adversity.
