Description
Miss Sakurai is a new teacher who joins Tenshin Academy at the start of the school year, just as the twin protagonists Ai and Mai Amatsu begin their second year. She is assigned to accompany a group of first-year students on a training trip as a chaperone. Calm, polite, and earnest in her speech, she presents herself as a sincere and diligent educator who cares deeply for her pupils. Her gentle and considerate nature makes her well-liked by the students, and she is grateful for the assistance the twins provide during the trip, as she is somewhat nervous about her first supervisory duty.
Physically, Sakurai is a tall, elegant woman with a proportionate but curvaceous figure. She has large green eyes and long dark green hair usually tied in a low ponytail. Her attire consists of a white jacket and red trousers. She carries herself with the refined air of an adult woman, wearing delicate lace-trimmed underwear and a subtle, sophisticated perfume.
Her primary motivation is to fulfill her responsibilities as a teacher and ensure the safety of the students under her care. However, during the training trip, she becomes the target of the demon Kurodama-Hoshi, who is disguised as an elderly monk. After catching him spying on the girls’ bath, she is assaulted, forcibly turned into a mindless doll, and repeatedly violated. Following this trauma, even after being freed from his control, she remains affected by the experience and continues to engage in self-destructive behavior in front of other students. It is only after Kurodama-Hoshi is ultimately defeated that she fully regains her sanity and returns to her normal self. In certain international versions of the series, the scene depicting her recovery was omitted, which has led some viewers to mistakenly believe she perishes during a later ritual.
Sakurai does not possess any supernatural or combat abilities; her role is that of an ordinary human caught in the conflict between the demonic forces and the twin guardians. Her development traces a tragic arc from a kind, trusted authority figure to a victim of violence, and finally to a surviving character who is restored to her senses after the demon threat is vanquished.
