Description
Prince Ludwig Chardard is a first-year middle schooler and France's U-17 World Cup representative. Born June 13th (Gemini), he stands 163-164 cm tall with blood type A. A genuine French prince of noble descent, he possesses a haughty, impatient, and romantic nature. His family consists of grandparents, parents, an uncle, an aunt, and his butler, Gregoire.

Chardard first meets Ryoma Echizen and Sakuno Ryuzaki near the World Cup venue after rescuing Sakuno from bullies atop his horse, Blanche Neige. Mistaking Ryoma and Sakuno's relationship, he challenges Ryoma to a horseback tennis match to determine who is "deserving" of Sakuno, despite Ryoma's clarification they are merely classmates. Chardard provides Ryoma with the horse Sumire for the duel. Their one-point match ends in a draw after Ryoma scores with a COOL Drive but falls; Chardard then identifies himself as "France Prince Prince Ludwig Chardard," hinting at settling their rivalry in the official tournament.

During the U-17 World Cup Quarter-Finals, Chardard faces Ryoma in Singles 3. He dominates the first set 6-0 but loses the second set 0-6. The match culminates in a tense third-set tiebreak, which Chardard loses 6-7.

As a tennis player, Chardard is a right-handed all-rounder. He wields a Prince Tour Approach DB OS racket and wears Prince Aerofit Game VI HC shoes. His signature skill is the "Prince of Ace." He exhibits exceptional adaptability in horseback tennis, leveraging core strength and balance to return difficult shots. Off-court skills include fencing and ballroom dancing.

Chardard enjoys long horseback rides and personally maintains Blanche Neige daily at the U-17 camp. His preferences include the color pure white, brioche, and Pièce Montée. He admires girls who "look good with braids," explicitly expressing interest in Sakuno (whom he calls "Cerize," French for cherry blossom). He dislikes common people and dried plums. His personal motto is "L’état, c’est moi" (I am the state).

Character messages note perceived shortcomings: Ryoma observes Chardard's failure to notice Sakuno's discomfort during their match, while France's captain Camus describes him as a "hopeless prince" who nonetheless embodies revolutionary spirit.
