Description
Eiji Kikumaru, a third-year Seigaku Middle School student and vital member of the tennis team, shines as half of the "Golden Pair" doubles duo with Oishi Shūichirō. His acrobatic agility and cat-like reflexes define his gameplay, complemented by a playful personality marked by a signature cheek plaster and frequent "nya" speech quirks. Standing 171 cm tall with vibrant red hair, he balances a wiry 52 kg frame. His lively, sociable nature stems from a bustling household: grandparents, parents, two older brothers, two sisters, a dog, and a parrot.

Originally a singles player, Eiji shifted to doubles after a first-year loss to Oishi forged their partnership. Their synergy blends Oishi’s strategic baseline mastery with Eiji’s net dominance, employing tactics like the Australian Formation and Synchro, demanding flawless coordination. Early challenges in stamina and awareness drove Eiji to train in low-oxygen conditions, hardening his endurance and tactical precision.

His arsenal includes the Acrobatic Play for impossible returns, the pinpoint Kikumaru Beam backhand volley, and the aerial Kikumaru Bazooka smash. Keen vision allows him to track rapid shots, a trait shared with teammate Ryoma Echizen. Though he triumphed 7-6 against Higa’s Yūjirō Kai in a Nationals singles match, he reaffirmed his preference for doubles, valuing camaraderie over solo play.

Growth emerged during a Hyōtei doubles match with Momoshiro Takeshi, where Eiji embraced Oishi’s strategic role, honing leadership and adaptability. At the U-17 camp, he climbed from Court 7 to Court 6, boasting balanced stats in speed, technique, and stamina (4 each). Relationships thrive through playful hugs with Ryoma, teasing Momoshiro, and a resilient bond with Oishi, tested by disputes but cemented by victories like their Nationals win against Rikkai’s Marui and Jackal.

Beyond tennis, Eiji enjoys toothbrushing, pet-shop visits, bug-collecting, red accessories, fluffy omelettes, and amusement parks, embodying a blend of whimsy and tenacity.
