TV-Series
Description
Cybersix is the sole survivor of a series of genetically engineered beings known as the Cyber series, created in a laboratory by the mad scientist Doctor Von Reichter. Marked with the tattoo Cyber 6 on her left arm, her name is derived from this designation. When the Cybers developed free will and dis obeyed their creator, he ordered the destruction of all five thousand of them. Cybersix managed to escape the massacre with the help of a slave, fleeing to the dark, oppressive city of Meridiana.
For her survival, she is dependent on a glowing green acidic liquid known as Sustenance, which is produced only by Von Reichter. As consuming it sickens her, she acquires it by draining it from the creatures the Doctor sends after her, an act that highlights her desperate and vampiric nature. To hide from her creator, who would be searching for a woman, she adopted a male disguise. After stumbling upon a fatal car accident and discovering that the deceased son, Adrian Seidelman, bore a resemblance to her, she buried the boy and assumed his identity. By day, she lives as Adrian, a quiet and reserved literature teacher at Meridiana High School.
In the anime, her personality is shaped by the loneliness and trauma of her origins. As Adrian, she is often distant, making excuses to abruptly leave social situations to protect her secret, particularly from her colleague Lucas Amato. While she is burdened by her past and the constant threat of Von Reichter, she is also brave, compassionate, and deeply committed to protecting the people of Meridiana. Her actions are driven by the dual motivations of simple survival—needing to find Sustenance—and a desire for revenge against her creator, which manifests as a dedicated mission to thwart his criminal plans for the city.
Her role in the story is that of a lone vigilante. By night, she sheds her Adrian persona, donning a sleek black suit, a long cape with a red lining, and a wide-brimmed hat to become Cybersix. As a superhero, she is a formidable acrobat and fighter who roams the rooftops, battling the monsters and Fixed Ideas unleashed by Von Reichter and his obnoxious clone son, Jose. She is reunited with her sibling, Cyber 29, whose brain was transplanted into the body of a black panther after a fatal fall. Initially sent to kill her, the panther, now named Data 7, recognized his sister and became her loyal partner in combat.
Key relationships define her journey. Her bond with Lucas Amato, a warm-hearted biology teacher, is central, as he becomes both a love interest and a source of human connection, even as she must keep her dual identity hidden from him. She also develops a found family around her, which includes a clever street orphan named Julian who often aids her. Her core conflict remains with her creator, Doctor Von Reichter, the man she calls "father," and his son Jose, who is tasked with capturing her. Throughout the series, Cybersix develops from a solitary survivor into someone who learns to accept friendship and connection, ultimately building a protective family around her.
Notable abilities include superhuman strength, agility, and reflexes that surpass Olympic-level athletes. She is a highly skilled acrobat capable of making superhuman leaps and has enhanced senses, including the ability to see in the dark. Her black bodysuit is resistant to fire, wind, explosions, and physical impact, while her cape allows her to float or glide through the air. Her signature wide-brimmed hat is also functional, equipped with radar-like receivers that can pick up distant sounds and signals.
