Description
Pegasus, formally known as Pegasus Seiya, is the main protagonist of the anime Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya. He is a Saint, one of the legendary warriors who serve the goddess Athena, and he holds the title of Bronze Saint of the Pegasus constellation. Like other Saints, his fighting power comes from Cosmo, the inner energy believed to be a fragment of the Big Bang that exists in all living things; this energy links him to his guardian constellation and empowers his Cloth, the protective armor he wears into battle.
Seiya's background begins in an orphanage connected to the Kido Foundation, which raised a large number of orphans and sent many of them abroad to train as Saints. He was separated from his older sister, Seika, when he was taken to Greece to train under Marin, a Silver Saint of the Eagle constellation. Seiya endured this training to obtain the Pegasus Bronze Cloth, and after succeeding he returned to Japan, where he discovered that Seika had gone missing.
