Description
Misanaria Bolenan, also known as Mia, is a young elf from the Bolenan Forest. She is the youngest child of Lamisauya and Lilinatoa, often referred to as Laya and Lia. Despite appearing to be around the age of an eleven or fourteen-year-old human due to her elven physiology, her actual age is 130 years, making her the oldest member of the party she eventually joins. She possesses innate magical abilities, which are characteristic of her elven heritage.
Her background is defined by a traumatic event: she was abducted by the Undead King Zen, who intended to use her to unseal Trazayuya's Cradle. Satou, the protagonist, rescues her from this captivity. In gratitude and out of a growing bond, Satou promises to escort her home to Bolenan Forest. After returning safely, Misanaria chooses to remain with Satou and officially becomes a member of his adventuring party, Pendragon, with her parents' approval.
In terms of personality, Misanaria is reserved and initially timid, especially around strangers. She is gentle and kind-hearted, often displaying a quiet, observant nature. Despite her shyness, she possesses a strong sense of duty and loyalty to those she cares about. Over the course of her travels with Satou, she develops a romantic crush on him, which adds a layer of affectionate devotion to her character. She is not confrontational but can display resolve when necessary, particularly in protecting her companions.
Her role in the story is that of a support character who accompanies Satou on his journey. She contributes her magical skills to the party, aiding in combat and utility. Her presence also reinforces the party's growing family-like dynamic, as she is one of the several young female characters who travel with Satou.
Key relationships include her bond with Satou, who she deeply trusts and admires. She maintains close ties to her parents and her home forest, and she interacts amicably with the other members of Pendragon, such as Arisa, Lulu, Liza, and the beastkin girls Pochi and Tama. Her relationship with Arisa has an undercurrent of friendly rivalry, as both hold affection for Satou.
Misanaria's development is gradual; she moves from a frightened, kidnapped victim to a confident and willing traveler who chose her own path. She gains greater self-assurance through her experiences alongside Satou.
Her notable abilities are centered on elven magic. She is a skilled magic user, proficient in various spells, and her power is acknowledged by those around her. Her magic generally serves both offensive and supportive functions, though she prefers to avoid unnecessary violence. Her long elven lifespan and accumulated knowledge also give her a perspective that contrasts with the shorter-lived human members of the group.
