TV Special
Description
Myskina Olga is a native of the lost island Alchemi, which vanished two hundred years before the events of the One Piece television special Heart of Gold. Although she appears to be a young girl around six years old, she is actually 206 years old, having maintained that youthful appearance for two centuries because of the effects of the legendary substance known as Pure Gold. She has long, wavy blonde hair and is tall for her apparent age. Olga is the sole survivor of Alchemi and the only person who knows the location of the Pure Gold, a treasure so valuable it could buy the entire world.
Olga’s personality is marked by immaturity, cynicism, stubbornness, and a blunt, sometimes barbaric frankness. She habitually thinks out loud, inadvertently revealing her plans and thoughts to those around her. This habit, combined with an opportunistic and greedy streak, makes her manipulative; she initially tries to use the Straw Hat Pirates to reach her goal. She holds a deep grudge against her father, Ashe Myskina, blaming his creation of the Pure Gold for her mother Livia’s death and for causing the giant lanternfish sea king Bonbori to swallow the island and its inhabitants. Despite her cynical exterior, her motivations stem from a complicated mix of survival instinct, resentment, and a lingering desire to reclaim or destroy the Pure Gold that ruined her life.
In the story, Olga is pursued by both the World Government and a ruthless treasure hunter named Mad Treasure, each seeking the Pure Gold for their own ends. She encounters the Straw Hat Pirates and, after some initial manipulation, becomes an ally and key navigator on their journey to Alchemi, which is hidden inside Bonbori’s stomach. Her role is crucial as the guide to the lost island and the emotional core of the special’s conflict over the Pure Gold.
Olga’s key relationship is with her father, whose legacy she resents, and with the sea king Bonbori, which swallowed her world. She also develops a tentative bond with the Straw Hat crew, particularly through shared adventures and the gradual revelation of her tragic backstory. Her development involves moving from a self-serving, distrustful survivor to someone who can accept help and let go of her obsession with the Pure Gold.
Notable abilities are not supernatural; her longevity and unchanged appearance are a direct result of being exposed to the Pure Gold’s power. She possesses no combat skills but relies on her wits, her knowledge of Alchemi, and her practiced habit of speaking her mind to navigate dangerous situations. Her most distinctive trait is her unfiltered vocalization of her thoughts, which often gives away her schemes but also serves as a window into her complex emotions.
