Description
Kon Tatsumi is one of the main protagonists of Urara Meirocho and a trainee fortune teller. She is the only daughter of Tokie Tatsumi, the owner of the Tatsumi-ya Tea House. Due to the way she wears her ribbon, she is often mistaken for a fox girl. Her specialty is kokkuri-style fortune telling, and she has the ability to summon a dark beast, a power that contrasts with her gentle and kind nature. She is also known for her strong dislike of fried tofu. As a child, she had very little social interaction, as she often locked herself in her room to focus entirely on her studies of Urara practices. This background shaped her into a strict, serious, and highly studious person who consistently earns good grades through intense dedication. Her primary motivation is her deep commitment to mastering her craft as an Urara. In the story, she is a core member of the group of apprentices at the Natsume-ya teahouse, often acting as the most academically disciplined of the friends. Her key relationships are with her fellow apprentices Chiya, Koume Yukimi, and Nono Natsume. Her friendship with Chiya is particularly significant, as Chiya's free-spirited and warm nature challenges Kon's reserved worldview and serves as a catalyst for her personal growth. Over the course of the series, Kon evolves from a socially isolated and strictly studious girl into a more open, cheerful, and socially engaged individual, learning to balance her dedication to her studies with the warmth and value of her friendships.
