Description
Celenike Icecolle Yggdmillennia is a magus belonging to the Yggdmillennia clan, a group of spellcasters based in Romania who are central to the Great Holy Grail War. She is a young woman of 26 years with a clever and beautiful appearance, standing 168 centimeters tall. However, beneath this attractive exterior lies a deeply cruel and sadistic nature. Celenike hails from the Icecolle family, a declining bloodline of dark magicians who fled from Western Europe to Siberia during the witch hunts, which caused them to lose much of their magical foundation. She was considered a rare prodigy in this fading family and was doted upon by the elderly female magi who dedicated their lives to perfecting the dark arts. From a young age, she was rigorously trained in black magic, a discipline that requires absolute coldness to sacrifice victims without hesitation and iron rationality to suppress the pleasure of inflicting pain. While this upbringing made her a supremely skilled mage, it also completely warped her personality, leaving her with no ability to control her selfish impulses in daily life.

Her personality is defined by a profound and unrestrained sadism, with a particular preference for young, beautiful boys. She works as a mage-for-hire, specializing in curse techniques to kill targets, and continues to practice blood magic that involves the torture and sacrifice of innocents, including children. Her twisted nature is so pronounced that her body is said to perpetually carry the scent of blood from her gory rituals, a smell she tries to mask with perfumes. Celenike's primary motivation during the Great Holy Grail War is not the grand goal of the Yggdmillennia clan to obtain the Grail, but rather the fulfillment of her own private desires. She becomes the Master of Rider of Black, Astolfo, using a catalyst that was a glass bottle with a mysterious stain. From the moment of his summoning, she becomes obsessively fixated on him, desiring to possess and corrupt his youthful and chivalrous spirit.

Her role in the story is that of a supporting antagonist whose actions are driven by her possessive obsession rather than strategic necessity. The core of her narrative arc is her toxic and abusive relationship with Astolfo. She views her Servant not as a partner but as a plaything to be dominated, fantasizing about tarnishing and breaking him. This is a stark contrast to her otherwise pragmatic loyalty to Darnic, the clan head, whom she genuinely fears and respects. Her most significant conflict arises when Astolfo begins to show kindness and loyalty to a homunculus named Sieg, whom Celenike views as a worthless pest. Overcome with jealousy and a sense of betrayal at being emotionally abandoned for a creature she considers lesser, her fragile self-control shatters completely. During the final battle, she confronts Astolfo and Sieg, using two of her Command Spells to forcibly order Astolfo to kill Sieg in a gruesome manner, purely to inflict psychological torment on her Servant.

In terms of development, Celenike does not experience a redemption or significant change in perspective. Instead, she descends further into her own mania. Her meticulous nature as a curse specialist is abandoned for a single-minded pursuit of revenge and gratification. Her end comes abruptly when, in the midst of her gloating and attempt to force Astolfo to commit murder, she is beheaded from behind by Saber of Red, Mordred, who kills her without a second thought. Her death is not mourned, serving as a karmic end for a character who prioritized only her own twisted pleasures. As a magus, her notable abilities are considerable. She is a highly skilled practitioner of black magic, specializing in curses and torture, claiming to know over a hundred ways to inflict pain. She possesses various mystical codes for this purpose, including a wooden whip called a cane and cursed nails that cause excruciating agony. Unusually for a magus, she also has a strong understanding of modern technology and has even conducted research on delivering curses through computer networks and the internet, showing a flexible and practical approach to her craft.
