Shizuka Ishigami
Description
Shizuka Ishigami is a Japanese voice actor born on September 14, 1988, in Tokyo, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent management firm Office Osawa. Prior to her voice acting career, Ishigami pursued a different creative path; during high school, she submitted a manga anthology that won an award, leading to a brief career as a professional comic artist for about a year. It was during her third year of high school that she decided to change her career focus and aim to become a voice actor.
Ishigami began her voice acting career in 2010. Her early years involved numerous supporting roles in anime series such as Bakuman., Nagi no Asukara, and Your Lie in April. A significant turning point in her career came in 2015 when she landed prominent roles that raised her public profile. These included Ikumi Mito in Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Ayame Kajo in Shimoneta: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist, and Stella Vermillion in Chivalry of a Failed Knight. The same year, she began voicing Syr Flover in the long-running franchise Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, a role she has reprised multiple times across its various sequels and adaptations.
Following her breakout year, Ishigami continued to build an extensive portfolio of work, demonstrating her range across different genres and character types. Her notable roles include Ikuno in Darling in the Franxx (2018), Hikari Hazakura in Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!? (2019), Ayaka Uehara in How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? (2019), and a young Thorfinn in Vinland Saga (2019). In 2021, she voiced Setsuna in Redo of Healer, Makio in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc, and Corey in The Idaten Deities Know Only Peace. More recently, her roles have included Benten in the 2022 reboot of Urusei Yatsura, Taiyō Takada in My Clueless First Friend (2023), and Ch'en in the animated adaptation of Arknights: Prelude to Dawn (2022). She also voiced Ichika in the 2022 series Ya Boy Kongming!.
Beyond anime, Ishigami has lent her voice to various video games. Her game credits include Almeida and Shion in Granblue Fantasy, Cheshire and Hiryuu in Azur Lane, and Erika Sumeragi in Shadowverse. She also voiced the character Masara Kagami in Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story and has roles in the Fire Emblem Heroes and Under Night In-Birth franchises.
Throughout her career, Ishigami has been involved in music performances related to her anime roles. She was part of the unit Knee-Socks, which performed an ending theme for Bladedance of Elementalers, and a member of the group SOX, which performed an opening theme for Shimoneta. She has also been a member of several seiyuu idol units related to various projects, including Seleas for the Tsukiuta. series and XX:me for Darling in the Franxx. Additionally, she has co-hosted a web radio show titled Yusuke Kobayashi and Shizuka Ishigami's Unyielding Radio since 2018. For most of her career, Ishigami was represented by the agency Pro-Fit. She transitioned to her current agency, Office Osawa, at the beginning of 2022 following the closure of Pro-Fit's voice actor representation department.
