Rokudo Rinne is a half-human, half-shinigami teenager who assists spirits in passing on to the afterlife, a duty inherited from his shinigami grandfather. Living in poverty due to his father’s gambling debts, Rinne works odd jobs to afford tools like the scythe and robe necessary for his shinigami duties. At school, Rinne’s classmate Sakura Mamiya, who has been able to see spirits since childhood, becomes involved in his supernatural activities.
