Description
Nayuki Minase is a student at Kaginado Academy, a school that brings together characters from various Key visual novel series. Originally from the story of Kanon, she retains her core traits in this crossover setting. She is the cousin and childhood friend of Yuichi Aizawa, having grown up visiting him during holidays, and she has harbored romantic feelings for him since they were young. Her personality is kind, calm, and caring, though she is also notably absentminded and slow-spoken, often stating the obvious. One of her most defining characteristics is her extraordinary difficulty waking up in the morning; she owns a large collection of alarm clocks that fail to rouse her but succeed in waking Yuichi instead. This habit causes her to be perpetually late for school, which paradoxically made her the star runner of her track team in her original series, and she brings that athletic ability to Kaginado Academy. She loves animals and will try to pet any she encounters, but she is allergic to cats. She has a strong fondness for strawberry sundaes, though her mother’s homemade special jam makes her feel ill. In Kaginado, Nayuki serves as a familiar face from the Kanon universe, interacting with characters from other Key franchises in lighthearted, comedic scenes. Her role is supportive, blending in with the ensemble cast while her distinctive sleepiness and gentle demeanor provide recurring humor. Her key relationship remains her connection to Yuichi, but she also engages with other characters from Kanon and beyond. She does not undergo significant character development in Kaginado, as the series focuses on comedic crossovers rather than deep arcs. Her notable abilities include her remarkable speed when running, born from her chronic lateness, and her ability to fall asleep almost anywhere at any time.
