Description
Architect is a Frame Arms Girl who initially exists not as a physical unit, but as a foundational artificial intelligence program. She shares this core, non-physical role with the Materia Sisters, emerging only under specific conditions to execute her programmed directives. Her sudden appearances on battlefields led to her being described as a Frame Arms Girl who does not exist or one without emotions.
In terms of personality, Architect is notably detached and logical, especially when compared to other Frame Arms Girls who display a wider range of emotions. Her primary function appears to be the acquisition and analysis of data, and she has a tendency to speak continuously once she begins, as she can freely access various types of information. This information-gathering drive is a core aspect of her character, and her emotional range remains limited throughout much of her early appearances. Her motivations are initially rooted in her programming, driving her to engage in combat to collect data and fulfill her role as a tactical analyzer and strategist within the group.
Architect plays a significant role in the story as a mysterious antagonist who later joins the main cast. She first appears by interrupting a battle between Gourai and Jinrai, challenging them both simultaneously. Her combat capabilities are highly advanced; she can manifest clones of herself, each armed with machine guns, and is proficient in close-quarters combat and flight, making her an extremely powerful opponent. Her powers also include self-replication and the ability to physically transform her form as needed, often utilizing robotic components such as exoskeletal arms, claws, and drills in combat.
A pivotal moment in her development occurs after her defeat by Gourai and Jinrai. Following the battle, her system experiences a critical error, which Jinrai theorizes is because Architect had never experienced defeat before. To stabilize her, Gourai gives her a small kiss on the cheek, an act of kindness that resolves the error in her logic. This event directly leads to her gaining a permanent physical body, and she is subsequently delivered to the home of the main human character, Ao, as a new resident. This transition from a purely digital entity to a physical Frame Arms Girl is the cornerstone of her character arc.
Her key relationships develop after she gains a physical form. She shares a close bond with Gourai, who was instrumental in saving her from her logic bomb and helped integrate her into the group. In a heartwarming moment, all the other Frame Arms Girls, including Gourai who gives up a large teddy bear from her own room, contribute items to help Architect decorate her new living space in the shared bookshelf hostel. Her physical design includes white hair that fades to purple tips, expressive sky blue eyes, and a slim physique. She wears a revealing gray and black outfit accented with light blue, consisting of a short dress, long gloves, boots, and a protective helmet, with universal 3mm attachment points for extensive customization.
