Hibiku Yamamura
Description
Hibiku Yamamura is a Japanese voice actress and singer from Fukuoka Prefecture, born on February 10, 1988. She is affiliated with the talent agency Haikyō. Her journey into the entertainment industry began after graduating from Yoyogi Animation Academy in Fukuoka, followed by enrollment in the RAMS Professional Education program. In 2008, she won a singing award at the Dream Factory The Debut Newcomer Voice Actor Audition, a significant early achievement that helped launch her career. For her musical activities, she initially used the stage name hibiku, a name chosen to express her wish for her voice to resonate in people's hearts.
Yamamura's voice acting career took off in the early 2010s, with one of her first major roles being the battleship Haruna in the 2013 series Arpeggio of Blue Steel -Ars Nova-. This role was pivotal, as it led to her forming the popular voice actor unit Trident with her co-stars Manami Numakura and Mai Fuchigami. A career-defining moment came in 2015 when she was cast as Kirara Amanogawa, also known as Cure Twinkle, in Go! Princess Precure. Voicing a main Precure is a significant milestone for any Japanese voice actor, and she has since reprised this role in numerous Precure All Stars film crossover events.
Since then, Yamamura has built an extensive and diverse filmography, showcasing her vocal range across many genres. She has taken on leading roles in a wide variety of series. These include the mysterious Noriko Sonozaki in Kiznaiver (2016), the cheerful Hibiki Hagyū in Anne Happy (2016), the title character Hinako Nakayama in Kenka Banchō Otome: Girl Beats Boys (2017), and Sara Garandō in ISLAND (2018). Her repertoire also features characters in action and fantasy series such as Asuramaru in Seraph of the End, Lukia in The Testament of Sister New Devil BURST, and Zara in The Magnificent KOTOBUKI.
In more recent years, her career has continued to flourish with a steady stream of prominent roles. She voiced Claudia Braford in Warlords of Sigrdrifa (2020), Aoi Tsumura in Smile Down the Runway (2020), Mitsuki Hayase in Muv-Luv Alternative (2021), and Faria in Seven Knights Revolution: Hero Successor (2021). She gained further recognition for her performances as Nanami Kuon in the hit series Ya Boy Kongming! (2022), the狸猫 Bunko in My Master Has No Tail (2022), and Itsuki Mitsutagawa in Shadowverse Flame (2022). She also voices Hazuki Nanakusa in The IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors franchise. Her versatility extends to video games, where she has voiced significant characters such as Saber in Fate/Samurai Remnant and Azami Mochizuki in the Sakura Wars series.
Beyond her voice work, Yamamura is also a singer and has released several singles and mini-albums. She is known for her mezzo-soprano voice and also works as an illustrator and manga artist, having drawn a column related to Arpeggio of Blue Steel. In November 2023, she announced her marriage to the musician Yuyoyuppe.
