Description
Maria Tachibana is a supporting character in Dance with Devils. She is the mother of the protagonist Ritsuka Tachibana and her brother Lindo, and the sister of Marta Tachibana. After her husband mysteriously disappeared, Maria was left to raise her two children by herself, taking on the role of a single mother. She is a kind and caring woman who worries deeply about her daughter’s safety and well-being. One of her key habits is insisting that Ritsuka always wear a special amulet, which later proves to be a protective charm against supernatural forces. Maria is depicted as selfless and brave; when she is kidnapped by the vampire Jek at the beginning of the series, she motions for Ritsuka to flee rather than attempt to rescue her, showing her willingness to sacrifice herself for her daughter’s safety. Her disappearance becomes the central catalyst for the story, as Ritsuka searches for her and becomes entangled in the conflict between devils and vampires over the Forbidden Grimoire. Beyond her role as a loving and protective parent, Maria has a romantic connection to Maksis, though details of this relationship are not deeply explored in the main series. She is a normal human with no special supernatural abilities, but her actions and the mystery surrounding her kidnapping drive the plot forward. Her development is limited primarily to the early episodes, as she remains absent for most of the story, but her influence is felt through the amulet and the motivation she provides for her daughter.
