Description
Agnes, a witch and Western yōkai from European folklore, possesses fair skin, long blonde hair reaching her waist with braided sections, violet irises, orange pupils with yellow centers, and pointy ears signifying her supernatural nature. Her attire includes a black witch hat with a red underside, a black dress with red trim and silver diamond pins, puffed sleeves with frills, a belt with a triangular buckle, and black heels with white collars.

Her personality merges frankness and free-spiritedness with deep-seated trauma. Witnessing her mother sacrifice herself under Backbeard's orders to protect Agnes' latent magical potential instilled chronic nightmares, a fear of forming attachments, and a secretive nature. This trauma intensified due to her sister Adél's apparent coldness, which Agnes mistook for hostility rather than a covert plan to replace her as Backbeard's sacrificial vessel. Consequently, she often withheld critical information from allies, endangering missions and straining her initial relationship with Kitarō. Despite this, she displays fierce loyalty to those who earn her trust and reckless courage in confrontations.

Her history centers on fleeing Backbeard's forces after stealing the powerful Ring of Arcana, essential for his "Brigadoon Project" to transform humanity into yōkai. She escaped to Japan disguised as a gemstone among Malay yōkai treasures, eventually coming under Nezumi-Otoko's possession. When discovered by Wolfgang, she revealed herself and provided Kitarō with a silver bullet to defeat the werewolf, forging their uneasy alliance.

Key conflicts stemmed from her secrecy regarding the Ring's significance and the Brigadoon Project's true purpose. She urged Kitarō to destroy the Ring, believing his Finger Gun technique could succeed. When initial attempts failed, she performed a dangerous ritual to amplify his powers, causing severe physical strain and nearly fatal consequences. This action, coupled with withholding critical information, led to Kitarō's temporary distrust and her expulsion from GeGeGe Forest after the ritual caused widespread destruction.

Subsequent events revealed gradual development through her friendship with human girl Mana Inuyama. Though initially pushing Mana away to protect her, Agnes intervened to rescue her from Victor Frankenstein, demonstrating growing attachment. She eventually moved into the Yōkai Apartments to stay close while minimizing danger to Mana. Her collaboration with Kitarō improved during the Carmilla incident, combining her magic with his power to breach dimensional barriers and save hostages.

Further development emerged through cultural exchanges in Japan, such as her initial dislike of azuki bean paste sweets evolving into appreciation after sharing them with Kitarō. Her protective instincts extended to assisting Kojirō the Karasu-Tengu in defending his village against Belial, using her magic to restore their settlement despite failing to secure the Ring of Arcana. During the Hakusanbō incident, she helped protect Yayoi Kuzumi from Adél and Buer, who sought to extract the Ring from Yayoi's body through lethal means.

Her background shows she was less diligent in magic studies than Adél during childhood. A pivotal moment occurred when her uncontrolled magic caused a flower crown to grow uncontrollably during a lesson, inadvertently revealing her potential to Backbeard. This incident directly led to her mother's sacrifice and the subsequent rift with Adél.
