Description
Chiaki Uchimura is a male high school student in class 2-4 and one of the central romantic figures in his story. He is approximately sixteen to seventeen years old and stands 170 centimeters tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. Before the events of the narrative, Chiaki was a member of the boys' basketball team during middle school, where he viewed his role as that of a mood maker. He comes from a close-knit family, living with his father Manabu, his mother Keiki, and his older sister Kaede. The family operates a restaurant, and Chiaki works there after school and on holidays, earning eight hundred yen per hour.

Chiaki has a laid-back, fun-loving, and mischievous personality, often cracking jokes to the point where it can be difficult to tell when he is being sincere. He can be somewhat perverted and clueless at times, yet he is fundamentally an idealistic and open-minded boy who cares deeply for the people in his life. Despite his relaxed exterior, he is prone to nervousness regarding his romantic relationship. He frequently expresses his feelings indirectly or through comedy, which is a source of frustration for his partner. However, he is earnest in his efforts and is willing to protect her when necessary.

The driving force behind Chiaki’s personal storyline is his relationship with his classmate and girlfriend, Kana Iijima. Their dynamic is marked by a significant misunderstanding at the outset: Kana believed they had been dating for a year after confessing her feelings, but Chiaki had interpreted that confession as one of their usual comedy bits. Upon realizing the mistake and seeing Kana cry, Chiaki asks her to date him properly, officially beginning their relationship. Even after becoming an official couple, their interactions remain heavily focused on comedy sketches and playful banter, which Chiaki often initiates. This behavior is motivated not by a lack of interest but by his nervousness and difficulty handling physical intimacy directly. He loves Kana passionately, but he struggles to show it in the straightforward romantic manner she desires, leading to a comedic push-and-pull as they attempt to progress past the initial stages of dating. In one instance, Kana discovers his collection of Western porn magazines and attempts to become more intimate, only for their plans to be comically interrupted by his mother, who checks on them twice to ask about protection. Chiaki rides a bike to school and lives a typical student life, balancing his classes with work at his family's restaurant.
